Truth be known, your windshield is a very important part of your vehicles structural integrity. Any crack or fracture within the windshield area weakens that integrity.

Todays windshields are part of the safety features incorporated to provide minimum operator / passenger trauma incurred in a collision, or rollover situation. The windshield is also part of the AIR BAG safety system and is very much a part of the action recieved in air bag deployment. Repairs to a windshield actually defaults both of these safety features.

Actual repairs are a cosmetic "Get By" applied only for the purpose of covering up a blemish caused by rock or other causes. The agent used for this type of "Repair" DOES NOT bond the glass in a solid, one piece, unaltered state. The weakened windshield, by virtue of the crack, or bulls eye, can no longer retain it's intended purpose to provide a safe enviroment for the occupants of the vehicle.
